Princess Aleah slipped out of the castle carefully avoiding the guards. The sun was setting in the far distance, and the moon rose casting its silver glow across the wooded landscape.  The cold season was approaching fast, and soon there would be snow covering everything in a blanket of white.

Aleah continued to stroll through the forest, as she was not ready to return to the castle and face her father, King Henry. They had had an argument about an arranged marriage between her and a prince from a southern land.

“Why must I marry someone I don’t know? I have never seen this prince.” She walked through the trees sulking until she noticed a small young girl dancing in a circle of stones. The girl had flowers and ribbons in her golden hair and clothed in a long white dress with gold weave and have the most beautiful wings. Aleah watched entranced by the graceful movements. It was almost as if she was gliding through the air.

Aleah started to approach her, and the girl stopped dancing, turned, and was about to flee. “Do not be afraid. I apologize for startling you, but I wanted to tell you, your dancing is so beautiful and graceful. I almost felt I was dancing with you all. My name is Aleah.”

The girl replied, “My name is Nieve.”
