Sean was sitting in the park across from the Cranwell Institute, drinking coffee and watching the people who passed by, killing time until he could go visit Katie, his wife.
Marcus Cranwell was a billionaire who built the complex when his wife developed Alzheimer’s disease. When he died, he donated his entire fortune for the operation of the Cranwell Institute.
Two women walked by pushing baby carriages.
One said, “Carol, we walk in the park almost every day and that same man’s always sitting at the same bench watching the children. Should we report him?”
Carol said, “No, that’s Old Mr. Reilly. There is a rumor when his baby was born it died hours later. His wife, Katie, now lives in an institute because she couldn’t handle the death. He usually sits in the park until visiting time. He’s harmless.”
Sean heard the chatter between the two women and began reminiscing about marrying Katie and the birth of his only child.
