Kayla looks out the window of the plane as it taxies on the landing strip in the New York City airport. When the announcement comes over the loudspeaker for passenger departure, tears well in her green eyes as she says good-bye to her old life and hello to her new one. She subconsciously finger combs her auburn curls, and waits for most of the other passengers to leave the plane. When only a few of the flyers remain, Kayla squares her shoulders, stands up to retrieve her carry-on, and leaves the plane.

While waiting at the baggage claim for the remainder of her luggage, she hears a familiar voice say, "Hello, beautiful." Kayla turns and looks into the sunglasses of her best friend.

"Bethany! I didn't expect you to come to the airport."

Both girls embrace and kiss each other's cheek.

"I can’t let you scrounge around the airport like a lost lamb, now, can I?"

"You can," Kayla said as she clasped Bethany's hand in hers, "but I'm so glad you didn't."

Seeing Bethany again, brought back fond memories. Kayla running her fingers through Bethany's dark hair while they make love. Her pale skin, cool to the touch. Kayla smiles as she turns to pick up her luggage.

The ride was full of "remember when" chatter and much laughter. After reaching the apartment, they put the luggage on the bed in the spare bedroom.
